Looking for some fast and exciting piece ideas for beginners. I played Concert Etude for my students and he really liked it but is not ready for it.
He has played Leopard’s Pursuit by Marcus Grant and the Mission Impossible theme.
Any piece or Etude recommendations that fit this category but are easier than Concert Etude?
Thanks |

Maybe some fast duets or trios, like Buglers Holiday. Maid of the Mist, those type of cornet solos. |

In terms of accompanied solo literature, John Walker's "The Trumpet in the Attic" (intermediate) and "Winds of Change: 12 Progressive Solos" edited by Carrie Blosser and Ashley Killam (late beginner - intermediate) both have some fun, up-tempo, contemporary pieces.
Plenty of faster pieces in the Rubank and VanderCook collections, but solidly at he intermediate level. Ernest Williams' "Famous Little Classics" are also worth considering.
For unaccompanied pieces, Belinda Reynolds "10 Progressive Solos" has a couple of brief unaccompanied pieces at the late beginner to early intermediate level. Charles Reskin's "Easy Trumpet Outings" and Philip Sparke's "Skilful Studies" have a few up-tempo studies that could work. |
