Fair price for “rare” model 43?

I have the opportunity to buy a 1970’s Bach Strad (103xxx), ML, model 43, corporation “star” bell. Great shape, but I haven’t played it yet. Assuming it plays well, what would be a fair price for this horn? Any insight is appreciated.

Condition is everything. Fair price for good, playing Bachs from this era can range from $1,300-2,500 depending on the condition of the valves, red rot, previous repairs, etc.

Fundamentally, there is no way to accurately respond to your post without photos of the instrument and ALL of its parts, solder joints, etc. Even then, the playability of the instrument is what makes some sellers ask about $2K or right at the bottom of the range I suggested.

I'd say $1650-1850 considering the model, vintage and assuming great condition.

There is one right now on eBay for $1499 Buy It Now, in what looks like as a good condition, that has not sold at that price.

Suggest you also look on Ebay for current listings, and past sold listings to get current examples.
