Hello, I have a Selmer trumpet and would love to know if anybody has any insights about the model, quality, and where/how to get it refurbished (I'm in Seattle, USA). I don't have any experience with trumpets other than playing this in high school in the early 1990s (it's sat in basements and attics since then).

It's pretty tarnished as you can tell. It has slanted valve tubes and to the best of my quick-googling abilities I think it may be a "radial" model from 1975 or 1976. Serial is 64464. The valve tubes are numbered 9, 8, and 7. The valves and slides seem to work fine with the exception of the main slide being stuck. I don't know how stuck, because I'm worried about breaking something if I pull too hard.

Do you know anything about this trumpet you can share?

Yes, that's a Selmer Radial, a highly respected pro-level trumpet. It looks like someone has already been tugging a bit hard on it, so you should leave getting it in playing shape to a professional. You happen to be in the same city as one of the best, Dan Oberloh.

Selmer Radial! Love mine! Such a great horn and a ton of fun to play. If you are new to Selmer trumpets, here is a decent site with some info. http://rouses.net/trumpet/selmer.htm Enjoy that horn!

Great horn. I like mine. The one in the picture will probably clean up nicely,
