Have anyone listened to the Tribute to Maynard Ferguson by The Jazzaar Festival BigBand feat Wayne, and find it a bit odd? I KNOW Wayne would nail this to the wall, no doubt, but it really sound like a synthesizer on the high notes! Listen to the solo on 1:40 as one example. Getting some Matt Brockman vibes! Too much studio magic? It ruins the experience for me, at least, but there’s a lot of great playing too, worth a listen, for sure!
And as I said, I know Wayne would nail this, no disrespect!
