Finalists are Stuart Stevenson, Steven Franklin, James Vaughen, and John Parker. Good luck to all!

Trials can be difficult to schedule, sometimes taking months to actually run their course since they have to find a time where the music director is conducting a concert that the candidate is actually available for. Best of luck to John! I’m sure we’ll hear when there’s something official to hear.

Does anyone know when the trial is scheduled to occur? Would like to try and make it out to those concerts.

Sounds like he did not pass his trial. With Michael Sachs heading to teach at Curtis, one has to wonder ...

Tough luck. Can't be a pleasant experience by anybody's standard.

You think he might leave Cleveland? There's some food for thought...

Anyone know who played principal on Mahler 1 this past weekend? Was there Sunday and they sounded solid. Whole section sounded great.

I just saw a facebook post:
Billy Gerlach (National Symph Principal)
Tony Prisk (Philly)
Jeff Curnow (Philly)
Chris Fensom (Winnepeg Symph Principal)
Mike Baker (Prolific NY pro; NJ Symphony, MET, et. al)

I assume Billy played principal, but don't know.
