I understand your concern and as a trumpet player yourself, I'm sure you understand that not all readers frequenting this page are as knowledgeable as yourself. Teaching trumpet can have benefits for the younger players and that is the reason I share these videos. If instructional videos bother you, I suggest you forgo them and continue with your own progress.
I am amazed that you have the courage to tarnish the name of such an historic performer on our instrument. "Gottfried Reiche" give me a break. Talk about bad taste..... _________________ http://www.facebook.com/thetrumpetblog

That video is good basic info about for dealing with any finely threaded connections - watch backs, lens caps, even jar lids.
The process of rotating 'backwards' to get correct alignment is standard procedure, and is something that ought to be taught in middle-school 'shop' or 'home ec' (ya, I'm old enough to remember that long ago ...).
An additional tip for youngsters is that if a valve cap is too tight to unscrew, get an adult, not a pair of pliers! _________________ Most Important Note ? - the next one !
KNOW (see) what the next note is BEFORE you have to play it.
PLAY the next note 'on time' and 'in rhythm'.
Oh ya, watch the conductor - they set what is 'on time'. |
