The man Berklee College of Music was named after (by his father IIRC):

Graduated from there in 82. RIP Lee.
I haven't been back there in 30 years. Couple of teachers still on the faculty from my years. Great place to go to school. The connections that faculty members had were awesome.
One day I was walking from the Boylston St building to the Mass. Ave building. I was on my way to an ensemble rehearsal with the director. It was a snowy, winter day and there was a huge limo in front of the Boylston building.
Found out later the limo was for Barry Manilow. He was in town for a series of shows and his music director had gone to Berklee. He had stopped by the school for a visit. One of the teachers he visited taught a pop songwriting course. He asked the guy if he thought Barry would like to guest lecture at a class later that day. The guy called Barry and he said yes. Students walked into class that day and Barry gave a talk.
