When I'm playing through Chet Baker transcriptions I find he plays a lot of arpeggiated runs through partials that would not need any change of fingering e.g. g, c, e perhaps and he does it very cleanly with great snappy timing. I try playing through using lips slurs or tongued and they lack the same snappy quality. Clearly lack of technique on my part, ha ha, but does any one know if he would habitually false finger these types of runs through the partials or did he run through them with the same fingering and just great articulation?

Maybe you can provide a specific example or two, but in general he didn’t use many alternate fingerings if you watch the content available of him on YouTube performing live.

Here's one run at 0:31 in the video, bar thirteen g, f eb, c, g, eb.

No catch moving from the open c to open g at all, perfectly smooth.

Those notes are all tongued.
