Just after New Years I discovered that the website for Beverly Music in Chicago is no longer up. That’s a pity because I had been looking at one of the horns they were offering (money permitting, that is …) but somehow their site seems gone for good. Any info, anyone? _________________ 2019 Martin Schmidt eXcellence

Weird, even a google search shows up virtually nothing.
I watched a trumpet on their site and had correspondence with them for several months. Glad I finally ponied up and bought the horn in November. It is a great horn and am very satisfied with the transaction. _________________ Larry Woods

Yeah, very odd. I was looking at the Conn 6B and the Contempora, mostly just pondering the horns - in total, with the horn price, shipping, customs, and taxes, getting the horns to Europe would probably have been quite some expense (and yes, I should unload some stuff first ).
What horn did you buy? _________________ 2019 Martin Schmidt eXcellence

It was a Schilke B6b. I have been playing it for a few months and am just about ready to offer my other horn, a much older B6 in the marketplace.
I often wonder of my old B6 (SN 64xx) has a thinner bell than the current models. The difference between the newer B6b (SN 57xxx) and my older B6 is marginal, but overall I give the nod to the B6b.
One more thing, Beverly Music often ran ads in the marketplace. Have you tried to PM the author of those ads? They have an active ad in the marketplace now.

I haven’t PM‘d them yet, didn’t want to take up someone’s time without really having the funds for a purchase.
The B6 is a very nice horn, too, it’s the Schilke I liked best so far but have never owned one. _________________ 2019 Martin Schmidt eXcellence
