I have a nice LA Benge long cornet and a question about terminology. The bell has a 3 on it. Do we refer to this 3 as a 3X, a 3Z or simply a 3 bell. Thanks for your thoughts. _________________ Getzen 800DLX cornet

Hello,
Benge made a 3Z, 6Z and 8Z cornet. According to my pamphlets, the 3Z was a .460 bore, 6Z a .468 bore, and the 8Z was the British style short cornet with a .468 bore. No info on the bell flare was given. _________________ Christian K. Peters
