I ended up picking up a Yamaha Silent Brass. I really like the feedback that you get from being able to hear everything through headphones, although I must admit it is a little tiring to play and requires more breaks. I still may get one of the Divitt mutes as well. |

The Yamaha is certainly one of the quietest mutes available, as far as others nearby being unable to hear. I've watched TV shows with my son on the same couch and practiced scales on a Yamaha practice mute. Of course my family is somewhat more understanding than some.
The back-pressure on that mute did hurt me though. Funny, with headphones it seemed quite livable, but without them I must have pressed a bit to hear myself.
At any rate, good luck - you've certainly got a great quiet mute. Keep us informed how it works out for you, and any future mutes you pick up! _________________ Jonathan Milam
