Hello! I was just looking for some input on wether or not I should purchase a Heim 2 mouthpiece. I currently play on a Bach 5c and I was wondering if they are similar? Thanks, Jack.

I have one (or two). I don't use it, so my information is not current but I believe the rim widths are a little different and the inner diameters are a little different. Because of this, they feel different. Not better/worse, just different feel.

If you're curious, and I can find it, be glad to sell you one at a big discount.

Everything I've ever read or seen (album cover) says he played a Heim.

Lipshurt is right. Miles never played a Heim mouthpiece. I don't know why so many people belive this. Check all miles's pictures over the web before the mid 70's (that's when he got his giardinelli) and you'll find that he is playing a gustat mouthpiece. Not the sale shape as the Heims

Didn't Heim design the mouthpiece and Gustat play it?
At any rate, if he never played a Heim, there are plenty of credible mouthpiece makers out there that make the same terminology mistake.

I found this very old thread which may provide some additional information:

Sadly, the "ringo.com" site where many of the images were housed appears to be gone.
