New video on my channel with two amazing horns!

This is a brand new bell on my Thane Performance. Previously this horn had a 5.25" red brass bell. Now it's a 5" gold brass bell.
The new bell has a brighter, clearer tone with excellent projection.

Great video! The Thane definitely sounds cleaner than the Lotus. I like how the video goes back and forth between the two through the song, it makes it easy to compare.

This is not correct. Several years and generations ago Andy helped with assembly. Taylor hasn’t been involved in years.

Does anyone know who does make Lotus's horns?

Edit:
They are now assembled in Italy. They source valves and bells from makers in Germany, and their website says that machined parts come from a shop in Italy.

They have a factory in Poland that assembles instruments for the European and Asian market, and they have a contract with a local music store in Texas that assembles horns for the American market. They source valves and bells from makers in Germany, and their website says that machined parts come from a shop in Italy.

This past summer (July 2023) Lotus moved all assembling to their Italy shop.

Previous Lotus horns had been shipped to the US and assembled at Collins Music Center in Houston, but that is no longer the case.

There are some small design differences with the new generation Lotus horns. I've personally found that the new gen horns play superior to the older models that were assembled in Houston.

Tuning, playability, and overall build quality has been improved.

You'll know you have a new gen Lotus if it comes with all 3 tuning slides and a case.
The trim kit has been updated to match their gen 3 mouthpieces, as well as the bracing and 3rd valve slide are slightly different visually.

I love how this new bell on my Thane sounds. Crystal clear!

I used to make my previous videos with me playing example A completely on both horns, but the videos seemed too repetitive and viewers would need to click back and forth to compare.

I like this format better where I just play through a longer example one time and have the horns alternating through the song. I'm glad to hear it's a good viewer experience!
