Yeah, I second (or eighty-seventh, or whatever) the eBay forum idea. These ads are jokes in themselves, and they're flooding every other forum. Yes, I've posted a bunch of these threads myself in times of boredom. I'm a hypocrite. I know. _________________ Chris King

Oh, I don't know. eBay allows people to buy equipment on the cheap most of the time. If the knowledgeable didn't point out the problems to the unknowledgeable, then people would say anything on eBay.
Without eBay, most people would still be playing their 7C unless they had a lot of money or a well stocked store in town. eBay serves a useful purpose. I have bought and sold endless amounts of stuff. I am willing to try a new mouthpiece I have heard about if I know I can get it on eBay OR buy it new and sell it on eBay later and get some of my money back.
Someone has to point out the "problems." Besides, sometimes the ads are just plain funny. :0

C'mon!! They were close. At least it IS a GR piece. My favorite was last week
and I wish I would have posted it here. It was for a flugelhorn I believe but
the lister posted a photo of an old motorhome. If I see it again (I'm gonna go
search right now), I'll post it here.

What exactly is the mistake? (I don't know GRs sizes) This guy is one of the best mp sellers on e-bay; he lives here in MA, his digital pictures are the BEST and I've bought and sold mps to him as we seem to use the same size. (He bought my Stork 3B25 when I downsized.) He's never mislabled anything before. |

I guess I just don't find the ad that misleading -- at least compared to many. He said the maker and the custom size. Are not those facts correct? Nice picture. He doesn't say it is a custom mouthpiece, but he links to the GR site so anyone could see where the size fits. He does say "customized" in his ad, although it is hard to tell if he is talking about GRs in general or this piece specifically (it seems more general though).
Does the ad get "fixed" if he says "Custom GR Mouthpiece"?

i looked too and couldn't see what the problem was BUT the AD had been EDITED by the time I checked it out.
it would be safe to assume it is an honest seller... and maybe a mislabeling situation that was since corrected. |

I have actually dealt with the seller on a couple of occasions. He is very knowledgeable and has some very nice equipment!
On this subject though, he is currently selling a Laskey 65DB cornet mouthpiece I sold him back in November ... but he called it "Lakey" ... to late to change it too .. he already has a bid on it.
He might have sold a 66MX recently and "relisted" the auction and forgot to change the title while he was changing the description. _________________ Bb - Yamaha Xeno 8335RGS
