I was reading in the latest ITG Journal that Herseth tried a 7DW on an E trumpet when he played the Hummel.
Does anyone know whether the 7D has the larger backbore similar to the 7E?
Sorry put this in the wrong catetory and it looks like someone else had the same question I did and put it where it belonged.

According to the Selmer website, the 7D has a different backbore than the 7E. Both backbores are described as being "tighter" than the standard #10 backbore, to facilitate playing in the high register.
The 7E has a #117 backbore. The 7D has a #76 (?) backbore.
It's inaccurate to describe backbores as larger or smaller than each other. They actually differ in shape or taper |
