I also wanted him to psot it with buy it now but he does not have a rating of 10 or above. This would have been the ideal thing to do. Your right about ebay being a contract, however if the the item is no longer for sale the that is another story. Like I said earlier the seller was offer to end the auction early from someone else other than me but the did not meet the price he wanted. I made the guy an offer and he took it. If he could have used buy it now then that would have been great. I dont want to strat any bad vibes around either I just took an opportunity to buy a nice trumpet and the gentleman helped me out. |

Isler,
You seem to be missing the point. You say you realise that listing with Ebay is a contract, and then in the same sentence you negate that by saying "however if the the item is no longer for sale then that is another story." The item is no longer for sale BECAUSE he has violated the contract! Do you not appreciate this?
What's done is done now, but please don't try to justify an untenable position. You exercised poor judgment, just admit it. |

I do not think that it is poor judgement but like I said he decided that he would sell to me outside ebay therefor the item was no longer for sale on ebay. And just for you to say I should admit I used poor judgement. My response to that is "Don't hate the player hate the game" |

I just saw the auction .. it met reserve. It sounds like it would make everyone happy if you bid until you were the high bidder, then have the seller "End at current Price" for you. You guys can then adjust the shipping charges accordingly to get the desired price he wanted. That way, you can each be protected and also leave ratings for each other ....
... just a suggestion.
Good luck either way with your horn, _________________ Bb - Yamaha Xeno 8335RGS

My opinion is that Isler is driven by greed, where as many others place doing what is right higher. I am all for getting a good deal, but it should be done fairly and within the rules. I got a Martin Committee Deluxe in excellent shape with original lacquer for $700, and I won it with a snipe at the very end of the auction. I used the rules Ebay allows to get a good deal fair and square.
Getting a seller without ebay experience to end an auction early to get a good deal is working outside the Ebay framework, and can only be explained by greed.

Just to let you know he is a veteran seller he had someone hack into his bank account and steall all his money so he had to change his ebay membership. Also just to let you know I am not driven by greed I have more horns than I know what to do with this is my first Committee. |

Hello,
My name is Corie. I handle the ebay listings for Parker Music. I didn't know he had sold the Martin to someone. isler must have called the shop and spoke to Mr. Parker. I don't normally like to end listings early. The point of the auction is to have an auction. Anyway, i'll remove the trumpet now. Mr. Parker says he's also going to list some more trumpets in the coming weeks in case anyone is interested. |
