Mendez only recorded a few single tonguing exercises from the Carl Fischer edition of the Arban Complete Conservatory Method; these are Nos. 18-36 inclusive appearing on pages 28 to 36. Originally issued on a 33rpm long play record, they are now on a Summit Records CD called Rafael Mendez-The Legacy (DCD 178) which also contains tributes from other famous players and extracts from recordings and masterclasses.
[Clyde Hunt has recorded a lot more of the Arban Method]

I have a copy of Mendez playing the Arban single tongue exercises on 78 rpm. Shows how old I am. But I learned how to single tongue by playing them with Mendez back in the early to middle 50's. _________________ S. T.
