Okay, just started the BE today. Here is my beginning assessment:
(all below is at BEGINNER starting level)
1. Lip Clamp is no problem.
2. Got the Roll-out, but cannot do the double pedal C yet. Only to the D
3. Roll in I think I have ...
Now, question - when I am able to do a squeak, the pitch is around a G at the top of the staff. Is that good?? or should it be a hgher pitched 'squeak'??? _________________ Joel Thomas |

You're a BE beginner, not a beginner trumpeter, right? If so, I'm guessing that your not really getting your lips rolled in for the squeak and the roll-in #1. Just sounds like it was too easy for you. Now, understand, that's coming from I guys still struggling with the RI after 3.5 months.
Anyway, if my squeak is any example it's up higher than a G, more like a high-C or E. When I put it to the trumpet, then I'm up at high-C to G over high-C. That's all great, but there's still no consistancy. That said, I'm still benefiting tremendously from BE and it's positively impacted my endurance and range, despite my struggles (my roll in collapses as I bring the mpc to my lips unless I work really hard and spend a lot of time in the mirror).
