I have been doing BE for about 2.5 months now. I use to have my roll in tone fairly well established. Now I'm finding that as my Roll Out gets better and better my Roll In is getting weaker and harder to maintain and my lips feel fatter. Is this normal?

Sounds like a phase. Not normal, but not abnormal either.
Part of progressing with BE is figuring out for yourself the best proportion of the various exercises. And the only way you can do that it to go down the road a bit and see what happens.
As an aside, not related to you Terrance - some players are (almost fanatically) worried about wasting time going down the wrong path. In my experience, worrying ITSELF is the waste of time. All you can really do is go more or less in the right direction and make adjustments along the way. Progress is rarely linear.

I have been doing the BE for a couple of weeks. I can do the RO well, but the RI is giving me problems. I can generate a high buzz by using the air in my mouth, but when I use air from my lungs the buzz is a lower pitch. When I put the mthpc to my lips the sound either stops or sounds very low. How much mthpc pressure do you use on the RI.? I have not been using much at all. |

For me I use very little mouthpiece pressure, but I need alot of air pressure to sound the roll-in notes. The air pressure of course is caused by my closed embouchure and small aperture.
