Phil,

It looks beautiful. Is your Olds considered the Standard Model? I know there was some point where they started adding Models like the Super, Super Recording, etc.

Thanks MusicMork. Trptbenge, I am not sure what model the Olds is. I was hoping someone might know. Thanks for looking, guys!

If you go to Alan Rouse's Olds Central site, you will find his email address. He has always been very prompt and forthcoming when I have sent inquiries about odd or rare or early Olds items. Try sending him your site and I am sure he will help if he can.

Why did you decide to have such an old horn plated?

Hello,
bgwbold, it was mostly raw brass and what lacquer that was on it was not original, but since it had not been buffed, at all, I decided to have it plated. I have wanted to plate one of my older Bach trumpets for a long time so this one got it!
supportlivejazz, thanks for the info.
Thanks for looking guys!
Phil

Looks great to me. I was just curious. I am so used to seeing yellow brass and the nickel silver on those older models.

Horn looks great! I have a silver model 43 NY (ser 124xx) from the same period. It is a fantastic horn that plays great and I am sure yours is a "player" as well!
