hello again,
I appreciate those who posted on my last problem. Thank you. But I have yet another... I noticed that I have the higher notes (knocking on a double G, so close) but, I am lacking in air power to where I can only sustain the notes for just a few beats. Can any one please help? |

Chip -
As Dory says in "Nemo," "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming.." You have to develop the strength in your embouchure, lungs, chest muscles and abs. You are probably just "bursting" (or puffing) the air at the G right now, instead of maintaining steady energy and volume of air.
Try playing a scale up to the G that is stopping you. Even when the note doesn't come out, KEEP BLOWING AND TRYING TO GO HIGHER. The worst thing to do is quit blowing as soon as the note stops. Assuming you're not doing anything goofy with your chops, eventually your air will be sufficiently steady and your chops strong enough to maintain the buzz. Keep on honkin... _________________ Dr. Michael Stewart
