this saturday I practiced for what I think was 150 minutes on trumpet and sax combined, to try to get closer to my goal of 2,325 minutes this month, which I will be about 500 minutes shy of.
Anyway, I couldn't play yesterday, and as I'm practicing today, I'm trying to get the mouthpiece as far away from my lips, but still touching as possible, so that I don't get any pressure. but somehow, after bout a minute or so, there's a slightly noticeable ring. I have gotten very frustrated with this, and I would like to know how it happens. t
thank you

Sounds like perhaps you might've overdone your practicing a bit and your muscles are tired/embouchure is temporarily blownout.

A certain amount of pressure is required to get a sound on the horn. If there is a slight ring on your lips after playing, that is fine. If it lasts for a long time and doesn't go away in a few minutes, then you are probably using too much pressure.

Don't be concerned with your "Badge of Honor". Some people get them, others don't. I have one. It's all good.

It's how good you sound, not how far away from your lips the mouthpiece is.

It's how well you practice, not how long.
