It is hard to tell. It looks like it could be a copy of Frank Holtons signature. Who knows. The Holton poaket trumpets are very much in demand because they played so well. If I get a pocket trumpet I wouldn't want to spend more then around $300 though.

I don't know about the horn, but the seller has over 1000 sales and 100% positive feedback; that's pretty darn good.

I don't see anything unusual about the instrument or the engraving. Looks fine and authentic to me. _________________ C. G. Conn 60B Super Connstellation

Only thing I can offer is it doesn't look like the Holton T650 Pocket Trumpet on the LeBlanc site??
http://www.gleblanc.com/instruments/query.cfm?model=T650
But they say it was bought orginally in 1997 so maybe a design change???
EDIT - from JimDonaldson's Gearhead site:
The most intriguing horn (and my favorite at least in a Platonic way), buried in the Holton catalog, is the Holton C150 pocket cornet (nice pictures of an older model are here), at seven inches in length, is the most expensive small brass instrument Holton offers. It is available in very limited qualities at a price (around $1700) equal to or more than the Benge and Kanstul. It is way cool. Take a look at the weird wrap. It is the shortest pocket available, I believe. I haven't played one but i understand that they play very well

It's a pocket cornet....not a trumpet. _________________ Schilke B1L / GRe65M/e65S

I have a couple of Holton trumpets with script and it looks very nicely done. the signature on this looks like it was done with a home engraving kit. Considering how expensive these are I would be surprised if Holton would let it look so amateurish.

It looks like all the engraving was done by hand, and not a stamp or laser. I remember when all engraving was done by hand on vintage horns- it wasn't perfect but was always very tasteful and classy. I think the engraving on this instrument looks just fine. |

Well my point, and maybe I didn't do a very good job of making it, was that the signature does not look anything like the one on my Holtons or any other I have ever seen. Doesn't really matter, except maybe to whoever buys it.

It looked like the engraving was added by the original retailer of the instrument (Washington music) based on the receipt that was shown in one of the pictures. Has anyone ever played one of these?
