I believe you have a 1940 Martin cornet. I played a 1931 Martin cornet for about a year or so before I replaced it with a 1949 Martin Committee cornet. I sold the 1931 cornet for about $250 and bought the 49 cornet for about $500. Both cornets had great sound and decent intonation. The committee is quite a bit heavier, but easier to blow. I really have been happy with the vintage Martin cornets and think you probably have a good one.
