I have a favor to ask of some of you. I have been pounded since I joined the TH with questions in posts, private messages, emails, and phone calls and I have done my best to answer them all.
All of this is great, however, I do have to ask that you not call. There are a few reasons for this. 1) I am in and out of my office so much that it is almost impossible to get me on the phone. 2) A lot of the questions require some research on my part so a phone call won't get you a quicker answer. 3) I'm swamped as it is at work and having to answer all of the phone calls takes up a lot of time. 4) I can work on the emails and posts from home, but the phone calls can only be handled at work.
Sorry if this seems impersonal, but I just don't have the time to spend so much of each day on the phone. I am still more than willing to do whatever I can to answer your questions, but in a more conveniant and timely way.
Thanks for the help.

I'm just glad you decided to stick around TH. Kind of addictive isn't it?

Yeah it is addictive. Plus I can't really bail on it now. You all seem so dependent on me.

Brett,
I think its a great thing your doing, taking your time to educate us and market your products here. You have been extremely helpful to me, and since I am still in the market for a horn I have not ruled out Getzen just because of one not so great experience with one.
Keep up the good work and effort. |

Brett,
I wouldn't call it a dependency, I'm certain that if Andy Naumann, Cliff Blackburn, Dave Monette, Zig Kanstul, or any other instrument maker whose name happens to be on their product, chimed in, they would be inundated also. It's just nice hearing about instruments and innovations first hand from the people that develop and make them. What you're doing is simply an extension of good customer service. There's certainly no dependency here though. The info you impart is either currently available or soon-to-be available on the Getzen website and everyone here knows that.
If you need to cut back because you feel it's a little out of control, then do what you have to. If you were to disappear altogether, I'm certain a fair number of TH'ers would come looking for you wondering why you split. Their concern would be to make sure you didn't get "trolled" out or fed up. Whatever level your contributions are here, they are greatly appreciated and welcome.

Gotta agree with Paul.....the REAL reason we keep you around is that you're so gosh-darned cute....
Thanks for sharing your expertise with us.

Ha, thanks a lot guys. I'm more than happy to answer the emails and posts and what not. It's just that the phone calls take up too much time.
I have a feeling that I'm going to be around for awhile. I have as much fun reading and writing on here as you guys. Granted, it gets a bit frustrating, but it's still fun.
