after playing on one for a few weeks, I've decided that it's actually a cornet.

Hmmm... Do you mean that your Committee plays like a cornet but is in the shape of a trumpet?

yes, i think that what i like about the Committee is that it can sound very much like a cornet.

Larry and James,

Congrats on getting your vintage Martin Committees. According to this link: http://www.dallasmusic.org/gearhead/Martin%20Committee.html

The Martin Committee trumpets were actually made with a cornet leadpipe. Hmmm.

Thanks, erik. Those Committee horns are nice playing. Didn't consider the cornet connection, however. That does explain though some of the unique qualities i'm noticing about the horn. It really does produce a sweet sound.
