I bumped into this article with interviews from young players with the St. Louis Symphony:

Joshua MacCluer is one of the people included in the article. I especially enjoyed this paragraph:

It’s nice to know that players in top level ensembles are actively striving to grow musically outside of their work with the orchestra. I think that’s fantastic!
