I use Blue Juice. It is fast, smooth, lasts long, and keeps the valves much cleaner than other oils. I have never experienced a "residue" problem with it.
I hope this helps. All the best. _________________ PAUL NELSON - Eclipse White Lightning / Getzen Eterna 900 Classic / Monette B4LD / Blue Juice |

Personally, I think that people's PH balance have more to do with how a certain valve oil works in any horn. Somebody who has very acidic saliva could cause a certain oil to break down or sludge up.
Just an opinion.................

Everybody has covered the valves pretty thoroughly, so I'll mention the slide.
Thicker slide lubrication is often mentioned as a stop-gap, but the slide can also be slight "swaged" or enlarged, to get it back to a regular seal. This is done by insertting a very slightly larger rod in the offending opening, making it larger where it needs to seal. This does not have to be done for the entire length, and can possibly be done using a dent ball. Any decent shop can handle this. |
