I am looking for a good set of valves for a 1950 Olds Special. What is the range of okay to good price? I have just started looking and saw some on eBay for $35 initial bid. It seems that I might get a full Ambassador with a flat bell for that.

Do you have the original valves? You could get them replated and be back to good as new.

$35 isn't bad. If they are unused 'new old stock', they will need to be fitted to the casing (lapped), though and you will spend more money doing that through a repair shop.
