You'll notice that I keep posting info about Charlie Melk in Milwaukee.
I just can't say enough good things about him.
Today he:
1. Replaced the leadpipe on my NY Bach Bb (I didn't want to change things on the horn, but it really needed it and with his "Mt. Vernon" leadpipe the horn sounds even better!)
2. Made and mounted a first valve saddle for the old non-reversed first valve slides
3. Mounted and sized (to fit my finger) a 3rd valve slide ring on my P5-4.
Great work, very reasonable prices, and a great guy to work with.
He's also got some great ideas and set-ups on how to make your horn play the way you want it to, and he is working on some really neat projects right now (tuning slides, Eb conversions, leadpipe and brace modifications).
Check him out! |

A great repairer / customiser is a great thing to know!
Regular readers of my posts will know the name of Will Spencer - he does all of mine, a great guy to know. |

In the Atlanta we are lucky to have Rich Ita. He does outstanding work. He ressurected a bach Strad that I thought was beyond repair. A great guy as well.
