Does anyone know the difference betweent these two models? What changed between the first and second generation of these trumpets?

Thanks in advance,
Dave

Not exactly sure about that one. I've got a 6345HG (#1012) and a 6335HGSII and they're both great horns, though one of the valve casings on the HGSII got a little bent somehow and now the valve doesn't work, but before that it was awesome!

Interesting question though, I'm a bit interested in that myself!

2 things that are visably noticable: on the Mark II the leadpipe is mounted farther down, i.e the horn feels closer to you (the bell bow) when it is inserted; and the Yamaha tradmark is put on the bell of the Mark II. I personally like the original Heavywall the best. I have purchased many of both types used for my students, and I have yet to find a Mrk II I'd keep over the original series.
