Ever hear of this guy? I stumbled upon him searching the web and his clips are very impressive. Great sound and nice technique and very full of passion.

Thanks for the link. I have never heard of him but he has a great sound. I notice he is playing a Monette Trumpet.

Nice sound, but it sounded to me like a flügelhorn, not a trumpet. |

I happen to be in Rome for a few months and I
found out that he will be playing in several clubs
in the next few weeks. I'll try to go hear him
and let you all know how he sounds live.

I'm italian, and listened to him several times live. The first time i heard him, he did a solo in a live concert with The Carnegie Hall Jazz Band that outplayed Byron Stripling, Randy Brecker and Jon Faddis, in my opinion. They look at him astonished after that solo...
Great technique (he remember me Wynton), very good taste on melodic lines. I like very much his "italian songs" cd. I think it was the first time an italian artist recorded italian popular songs like you record your old and new pop songs. I have some dream about an "italian real book", i'm not able to do it, but i hope someone does.
I saw him playing a Courtois EvII live with CHJB, than a Bach live with small groups. On "italian songs" played a Monette and a flugel, his last trumpet is a Taylor.
cheers!

I'm very happy to read on this forum about your attention on Fabrizio's music and great tecnique!
He's one of the most trumpeter in Italy, maybe in Europe!!!
About his equipment, principally he uses a Monette B993 model trumpet (like Wynton).

Yeah, he's good. Really good. I've got the cd he did with Phil Woods and a couple of others. The guy's got it all going. But, man, those European prices for cds (ouch!). Doesn't help that the dollar is worth about that of a Mexican peso. Out of curiosity, what did you pay per cd from this site?
