I got a dead link too. I am very interested in how this horn plays. When you get it in if you would private message me and share some of the details. If you want to email a picture of it, I'd like to see it as well. _________________ Earl

Regardless of dead links or whatever, congratulations! I have a friend who is a pro player and plays a Gen II. Great horn, even if it is a bit heavy. I'm not into resistance but in the case of this horn I found it nice...the resistance is only there if you are playing soft. and it helps you center a little...but man that thing opens up!
AGain, congratulations!

it doesn't come up? What about in my 2nd post, no pic? I can see it on my screen when I come into this forum. Well, if anyone would like me to email the pic to you, contact me at wjtakacs@yahoo.com It plays better than it looks, I am completely hooked on this horn! |

My teacher plays a Generation II and is second trumpet in the Cleveland Orchestra. Just goes to show you that you CAN survive in this world if you don't play a Bach.
P.S. That must have cost a pretty penny. How much was it, if you don't mind me aksing?

txtrpt, do you live near DFW? If so, would you like to let us ogle your new horn(s) at the next DFW Trumpetfest, tentatively scheduled for 11/20/2004?

mconley - Is your teacher Jack Sutte? If so, pass on a hello from me next time you see him. We were cabinmates at the Interlochen National Music Camp many summers ago and he stayed at my house for the day when he flew in to audition for Curtis. Ask him if he remembers that! Anyway, the basic Gen III horn is $3000, and the gold plate adds $700. I definitely needed the gold plate as my silver plated Bach is about to disintegrate in my hands!
dcstep - I am about a 5-6 hour drive from Dallas, but would love to come out for the trumpetfest. Send me some info!

Well, Professor, I see that you're in beautiful Canyon, TX. I've been there a couple of times to see the play and I've spent some sleepless nights in a motel downwind of one of Amarillo's larger feedlots, so I'll surely include you in my territory.
You didn't happen to do some doctorate work under Leonard C when he was at UNT, did you? I sat by LC during a recital of a candidate from Canyon. (The performance I heard was excellent, whomever it might have been. I'm a friend of Ishkander Akmandullin, in case you're wondering why I might have been sitting in your recital).
Anyway, I'd love to add you to our DFW Trumpeter email list and particularly keep you plugged in about the DFW Trumpetfest scheduled for November. We could probably make arrangements to pick you up at Love Field if you choose to fly in for the event. We had people from Houston and Oklahoma at the first TrumpeFest.
TH will not let me see your email address, so please send me an email at dctep@swbell.net and I'll add you to the lists.

Hey guys, I'm really sorry about the pic. I can't understand why I can see it and you can't. Perhaps I could email it to someone who knows how to post it correctly... |

Atom,
send me your email address - it doesn't show up on this site, it only provides a link and I can't attach the pic through there. |
