Hi everyone. I'm auditioning for this band and they are asking for

"any solo literature excerpt from the jazz idiom which best demonstrates your ability and basic knowledge of jazz articulation (improvisational optional)"

What do they mean by "any solo". Does this mean that I can play a solo from Jim Snidero's book "jazz conception" or do they mean a solo from a big band chart or what?

Also does anyone know where I can find the chord changes to Charlie Parker's "Billie's Bounce" or where I can get a play along track of it.. thanks a bunch for any help for any help.

Jorge,

Aebersold Volume 6 (Charlie Parker) Track #2 contains Billie's Bounce. It's a moderate tempo Blues in F.

I don't know how it could be a jazz band with improvisation optional.
