Robert,

I'm very sorry to hear that we have lost another marvelous player / teacher. I don't have any further details, but I thought I would post this link to his bio for those that are not familiar with his career.

The ceremony happens in a church in the 17th arrondissement of Paris not far from his living place.

The familly was affected,

I felt sadness of course and and a lot of respect among the people who were there
A lot of trumpet player were here. I will probably forget many, but i recognise : Pierre Pollin, Claude Vasse, Hakan Hardenberger, Otto Sauter, Eric Aubier, Antoine Curé, Jean-Jacques Gaudon, Bruno Nouvion, Pierre Gillet, Dominique Collemare, Patrick Fabert, and many others.....

The Paris trumpet ensemble (Nouvion, Gillet, Collemare, Fabert, ...) played the fugue from Bach, the winter from the four saisons
Jean-Jacques Gaudon played Marcello's second movement with organ, a Bach's choral.

On November 20th a concert in Pierre Thibaud's memory will happen in Paris

hello all

i will try, it seems that a lot of trumpet players who have study with Pierre Thibaud in the Paris conservatoire will play, it makes a very long list !! Hakan will probably play too...
On that day, i have to play for another concert, so it will be impossible for me to be present at this memorial, but i will try to know what will be playing.

Bye and be well

Dominique

Thibaud's other recordings remained are

Hummel concerto in the album "Best of Trumpet" (Universal, Eloquence series)

Haydn concerto in the album "Haydn Concertos" (Universal, Galleria series)

and maybe Boulez recordings by 'Ensemble Intercontemporain.'

When I went to study with Thibaud in the winter of 2002, he told me that he had recorded another set of Charlier etudes, but didn't know when they would be released. Anyone has any idea about this?

Also, I have a short clip of him playing some ultra romantic song which is really a classic example of his playing style. I downloaded it off Kazaa a long time ago, and the file is called St Preux. Does anyone one know where this comes from?

Hello Friends

Here is one version of Enesco's Legende reccorded in 1981 by Pierre Thibaud.

i hope you enjoy
