I recently bought a WT, with the extra tuning slide included. I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions about how I can store this inside my case? Is there any sort of holder for extra tuning slides? Any thoughts? |

The Walt Johnson case for the WT includes a place for the extra slide. Or, Reunion Blues, Rocky Mountain Case Works, and (I think) Leather Specialties all make small bags or pouches to fit tuning slides so they're padded and can be tucked away.

Hi,
With all four gold-plated WT slides for my horn, I could have been as nervous as a cat on a porch full of filled rocking chairs!
Possessing a good, hard plastic case that one of my Audio-Technica mics came in gave me an idea.
"Hey, I'll take some med-soft packing foam I have laying around an trim them into rectangles that fit inside the mic box--layer upon layer until I fill the box."
"Then I'll take the middle layers and cut out their insides to allow each slide to precisely fit within the layer and then put it all in the box."
Now all my "cat's tail(s)" are boxed up, safe and secure.
I'll bet you WT owners can find similar hard enclosures around that could be modified the same way . . . maybe one of those new, metal box CD holders . . . remove the guts, get out the old razor blade and a bunch of foam and start cuttin!"
Good luck! |

I have and old getzen doc model with 2 slides... go down to the grocery store and get some bubble evelopes that the slide will fit into pretty well... this has worked for me for years and it is supper cheap and takes up virtually no room.. |

you might try a mountaineering store, like eastern mountain sports or ehrewon. they have all sorts of padded cases in lots of different sizes.
you might also go to a comp-usa or a best buy and look over their caselogic cases for pdas, cds, earphones, etc. you'll probably find something that fits. _________________ Jim Hatfield

Even the WJ case won't handle multiple slides. _________________ Ed Taylor . . . a Messianic gentile |
