Hello all,
I figured it was time for me to stop procrastinating and order these two fine concertos. I was just curious; I know a lot of high school kids play them in Eb but should I get them in E and practice hard and then impress the judges or would I just be giving myself extra work for little benefit? I am also wondering what version is 'the'' version, who edited it, 'cause i've seen a few. Do you have any other suggested pieces I might want to add to my library. Thanks

Haydn is in Eb, and Hummel E. That's the way I remember it from college days. Anyone who knows better? _________________ Nicholas Dyson

The Hummel was originally written in E, but it is generally played in Eb. The E would probably be more impressive for a competition. _________________ Best Regards, Play Well!! |
