| I have a pre-UMI Benge cornet as well as 2 UMI models. I have also played around 8 or 9 other UMI models. They are all very good instruments. My pre-UMI model was originally lacquered and is now silverplated with a gold-wash bell. It is a very nice instrument and is better made than the others, however it doesn't play quite as well as my lacquered UMI model. These cornets can be picked up for good prices every now and then on Ebay (one sold quite cheaply just a week or so ago) and are often under-rated. |
