I had the pleasure of meeting with Bruce Lee, owner of NorthernBrass.com this past weekend in Arizona. Bruce was more than helpful in helping me select a better range of equipment. His knowledge of horns, mouthpieces and other gear is top notch! If you are in the Phoenix area, I recommend you get with Bruce and check out his selection of Eclipes, LAwler, Callet, GR mouthpieces, etc. - I left his studio a much more informed player and with a much better grasp of my direction as a 10 year comeback player.
I CAN'T RECOMMEND NORTHERN BRASS.COM ENOUGH!

I agree Bruce is one of the most Knowledgable guys you will ever meet. He also has a great instinct on what equipment fits a player the best. He listens to you and helps you make the right choice.

Bruce set me up with a GR mouthpiece a couple of years ago. I knew right then that it was "the" piece I'd stay with. I haven't been even slightly tempted to try anything else since.
He's also a great guy to chat with and either "shoot the bull" or seek guidance. You folks in the Phoenix area are lucky to have him down that-a-way. Now you'll get a much wider range of some of the custom horns when you have your "show-and-tell" events! |

Bruce set me up with a new NorthernBrass 64GP*** after I tried several different sizes and configurations. I have recently been playing on a Marc. Shew Lead. The new GR is right on the money for me - with the more comfortable rim and larger throat I have what I feel is a much better setup for me as I progress - I've also regained a much better low and mid range. This is the type of ideal consultation experience you get in person... rather than trial and error over mail order.
Do yourself a favor and give Bruce a call if you are in the area!

You do not even have to be in the area. I am a couple of thousand miles away and he is working on me!!! _________________ Gene

For the past few months I have been playing a Northern Brass mouth piece, which is a GR manufacture to Bruce Lee's design-NB66****. It is a really nice piece. I can't recommend Bruce too highly as a source for the highest quality of trumpets and accessories. I have sought his advice and made purchases from him several times, and he's come through every time. _________________ S. T.
