just got wayne bergeron's new big band cd, "you call this a living?"
every track's a winner: originals, laura, jazz arr. of waltz of the flowers, some muy picante latin, and a thrilling rendition of america the beautiful.
he's backed up by some great la players, including pete christlieb.
it's avail at http://www.waynebergeron.com/
(no wonder maynard liked his lead playing!)

I just got through checking on this player...
I encourage anyone who is struggling with vibrato...GO TO SCHOOL ON THIS WONDERFULLY GIFTED ARTIST. Mr. B knows exactly when and where and just how much but most of all GAD'S CAN THIS GENT..DELIVER THE BIG BOLD SOUND.
He is very stingy with his vibrato..but when he uses it, he seems to tie in with the horns overtones and bleeds off the notes with such feeling and emotion.
Another player (who reminds me a lot of of him is our Seattle's very own Thomas Marriott who, as you know...was the 1999 Caruso ITG competition winner.
When Thomas works a lyrical theme..very much the same way and style as our Mr. Bergeron...Hummm?
Anyhoo...click on the link and enjoy the musical ride. Thanks for posting the link on this one.
Simply astounding and class act performance. |

I just had Wayne Bergeron up here as a special guest, featured artist with my band on May 25th, 2002 at Tacoma's historic Rialto Theater. His clinic and his performance were amazing. This guy has it all, great chops, beautiful ballads, great jazz, and the most incredible sound... At rehearsal and at the gig he blew the roof, walls, everything out of the building and was incredibly moving, conveys great and stirring emotion when he plays, and with a power in those shout choruses that is unheard of. It was a great concert. I have videos of that concert for sale by following the appropriate links on my web site:
http://www.groovinhigher.com
Also, the video has the entire concert, the CD has most of the concert. The CD of course has better audio, but both are fun to have, for those interested. Wayne is amazing! Make sure to by his CD at:

and to buy the concert CD and video go to my site:
