I’m in a rock band that plays the Doobie Brothers song “Long Train Running”. I’ve played a little harp years ago (key of C only) and want to try and work up the harp part. The song is in G minor so what key harp would I use? I think I remember the harp would be keyed different than the key the band is in. Any harp players out there that can help me? |

If I remember correctly, non-chromatic harmonicas (blues harps) are tuned in relative major/minor keys for blowing/sucking (no rude jokes please!). So your C major blues harp should be usable in A minor. Therefore you need a Bb harp to play G minor.
If I am drastically wrong about this, feel free to correct me. |
