Hello All,

It’s as if all the stars are finally staring to align just right...

Yesterday was a very big day for me. I have officially been granted permanent residence status (a green card) in the United States, and am now one step closer to becoming a US citizen. With this come many opportunities in my life...

For those of you who know me in person, you know how passionate I am about my desires to become a professional fundraiser to help nonprofit organizations, especially those groups whose missions are geared towards youth education through the arts for underprivileged students. I believe that I even posted about something like this several months back.

Well, just today, through a great recommendation from one its own staff members, I have been encouraged to apply for a Masters of Science in Fundraising at New York University starting in fall 2006. I know very well that there are no guarantees, but I figured that I should ride on the momentum and do everything that I possibly can so that I can continue to pursue the dreams that I have. Not having to worry about visas really makes things easier.

The reason why I’m writing on this forum is because, after reading so many of your posts that are filled with passion and compassion, you all have allowed for me to realize my own passions and now there’s something that I can do about it; and for that I owe you a big thanks.

Seiji

Thank you for respecting our country (and soon to be yours too!) enough to actually go through the process of becoming a citizen.

Congratulations!

Thanks for the encouraging words, everyone.

Hopefully one day, I'll get to work with someone on TH to help your organization grow!
