Hi Sean, That's an excellent video. Sometimes I'll put that on when I want to feel more inspired. Great information.

I do the same thing!
I also have the set of Claude's teaching tapes (I used to make the copies for Claude and Patty with my video equipment). Sometimes I leave them running in the background while I practice. Kind of like having him there with me again.
All for now,

The next time I talk to Patty Gordon, I'll suggest she offer a "student discount" - though that will by definition cover just about every potential customer...

P.S. The tapes worth the $80 and ALOT more. |

Hello all, I'm new to Claude Gordon's teachings. Actually, I decided to order the video today after reading some of your testimonials.
I believe I have pretty sound abilities (Haydn, Hummel, Carnival of Venice, Brandenburg 2, etc.) to play the trumpet (I'm No Master) but I don't have all of the things I would like, such as wicked endurance, double high C range. In general, I'm looking to get straigtened out of some of my bad habits.
My question: Is the video, 7 essentials to Brass playing, an appropriate starting point?
OR
Should I first go pick up some books before viewing the tape?
OR
EITHER/OR:)
Your input is greatly appreciated and I look forward to post results of my progress on this forum.
Thanks
Samuel Lee

I think you might be a little past a video for help.
Why are you not training with a live PRO?
I think the video would help me, but then again I have less than 1/4 what you have! _________________ TTFN

Training with "a live PRO" is great for anybody, but NOBODY is "beyond" the video. I play it myself once in a while and I already am a "live PRO" (I'm breathing and I get paid to play, so I guess I fulfill the prerequisites)
Get the books and the video - If you're really enthusiastic there's no reason to delay either thing.
Sincerely,

Thanks for the input.
I got the video over the weekend, and Claude Gordon is the man, can't believe he could play like that.
I'm really having the most trouble with being able to consciously place my tongue, and to be able to perform the K tongue. It seems that I'll have to look for live lessons. I'll be around the post, and thanks again.

John...
Just checking up.
Any ideas to time/place for your crash course?
I'm sure you don't want to discuss price here, but feel free to click any of my links below to "talk turkey".
I'm sure I'll have to save some of my tax return for this so the sooner the better!!!
