I have a Bach C 229 Large bore, was a 25H pipe on it (no pipe currently on the horn). It is a good horn from what I recall back in my University days 20 years ago, but was a bit tricky to play in tune, didn't center or slot real well, a little stuffy.

Anyway, the leadpipe was since damaged (that's why it's off the horn). I'd like to have someone put a different pipe on it. I'd like something that is the best fit for TCE, and I'd like good response and intonation improvements, and pretty dark sounding preferably for this horn.

Any suggestions on what pipes to consider (there seem to be so many), and I'm in Winnipeg in Canada, any place up here that is a good place to take it or send it? Also, I'll be in Kansas City for a week this summer and could take it with me there if there was a place that's good there to do the work.

I know this is a "horn" question, but I need this thing to work well with a TCE setup. Thanks.

Give Mr. Callet a call. He is the master of leadpipes. And as he has done tons of retrofits on Bachs he'll be able to dial you in. Consider Charlie Melk for doing the actual work. - Kyle

You might email Dennis Najoom in Milwaukee or at least check out his website (ITG Links)

Call or email Cliff Blackburn, his pipes work well on Bachs.
