Hi everyone,
yesterday I heard the Berlin Philharmonic do Mahler 5th with Sir Simon Rattle conducting! It was absolutely fabulous! I think Tamás Velenczei played first trumpet. He did awesome! The orchestra is so exceptional, that I can't believe it! Simon Rattle had the full control over the orchestra with just little movement and it seemed like the orchestra and he where mentally connected. I think to hear one concert like this is one of the greatest musical experiences that you can ever have! If you ever have the chance to visit such a concert of such an orchestra do it, whatever it costs!
Just wanted to share my joy about that concert!
Peter

I also recently saw him a couple of weeks ago conducting the Berlin Phil. I believe it was on Arts and Entertainment network here in the states. Fantastic performance! |
