I am very happy to announce that another of Mr. Adam's students just accepted a faculty position at a fine music school!!!
Ansyn Banks will join the faculty of the University of Louisville School of Music, where he will teach trumpet and other courses in the jazz program. Ansyn will join an excellent faculty that includes Mike Tracy, John LaBarbera, and Jerry Tolson, among others.
Ansyn just finished course work at Indiana toward a doctorate in brass pedagogy. He also has a masters in jazz studies from IU. In addition to Mr. Adam, his teachers have included Adam students Jim Stokes, John Rommel and me. His other (non-Adam) teachers include Joey Tartell, Ed Cord, and Larry Griffin. |

I am a recent graduate of Morehead State (student of Greg Wing) and am currently living in Louisville, KY and have been taking lessons at UofL with Ansyn Banks for the last few months. This guy is a monster player and an incredible teacher (especially if your an Adam student and Jazz player like myself). If you are in the area I highly recomend coming out to hear him play or getting a lesson. He is also a really great guy and wise beyond his years. _________________ "Run towards your problems, not from them"

I had the pleasure of sitting next to Ansyn in the Brass Choir my first semester at Indiana. The guy is an all around phenominal player!
Congrats Ansyn... have fun out there, but no rooting for the Cardinals. _________________ Jamie Lantz
