Hey,
HAs anyone else ever played this piece? It is a bunch of fun. Many high Eb's and I believe there were two high F's. But the whole piece in general was a killer. We played it when I was a sophmore in highschool. My band director was a trumpet player too. He had a lot of fun watching me play that one.
Anyone else have thoughts on the piece? It is Danza Final (Malambo) By A. Ginastera. I believe that is how it is spelled. _________________ www.trumpetherald.com

Played it and Ginestra's Harp Concerto many times with the Dance Theater of Harlem.
The Harp Concerto has a lick that should be looked at.

I believe this piece is a movement from a larger piece entitled "Estancia" or something similar. I played it in my youth orchestra while in high school. It is definitely a killer piece in original form, and it sounds like the same for the band arrangement! All the movements are beautiful, but the malambo is very challenging! |

Yes,
It is from "Estancia Dances". A wonderful piece. But I never had a chane to play anything other than the "Malambo". But it is definitely one of the coolest pieces I have ever heard. _________________ www.trumpetherald.com
