Star Wars: Maurice Murphy's first morning's work with the LSO.

I watched Austin Powers again last night. Some tasty high note work!

A lot of great stuff mentioned here.

How about the theme to "THE WALTONS" ? Remember that old show?

The score to "The Patriot" with Mel Gibson is just gorgeous.

How about anything with Jon Lewis! The Spiderman soundtrack is a good example of this guy's chops. BTW, he'll be at the ITG conference in May!

I'd like to say Terrance Blanchard's "Malcolm X Jazz Suite" but that wasn't really for the film - it was based on music he wrote for the film.

That being said I'll take "Mo Better Blues" performed by the Branford Marsalis Quartet featuring Terrance Blanchard on trumpet.

How about Tim Morrison on John Williams "Born On The Fourth Of July". I get chills everytime I hear that gorgeous solo.

Trumpet solo in "The Trio" at the end of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
Written by Morricone. He was a trumpeter himself. Any ideas on where you can get that score?

OK others have included TV, so I'm claiming it is fair territory

How about the Jetson's cartoon? At the end of the program, when the credits are rolling . . . some cat really takes off - anyone know who that is?

Jetson's (the TV show) was Pete Candoli.

Walton's was Uan Rasey.

Speaking of cartoons....how many of you can remeber all of the various types of music (from classical to jazz) that you could hear in the background? Bugs Bunny, Top Cat, and a host of others all had some neat tracks laid down. That was some of my first exposure to music that I can remember.

I love all the trumpet playing on the John Williams' movie scores, especially Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. I also enjoyed the theme song to Star Trek Voyager.
It's too bad some of these guys go unrecognized by the general public, but that's probably how they like it!

Ohh I hate to say this but the Jurassic park soundtrack is one of the reasons why I started playing the trumpet. Especially "To the Island" and the little trumpet solo in the interlude between the helipad and the first scene with dinosaurs. Beautiful stuff even if it is overdone by Jr. High groups.

I think "Office Space" has some hot stuff in the beginning and end. "Peanut Vender" and something else, I believe.
Later,
John

My youth orchestra did Jurassic Park...it was the worst concert I ever played. Nice piece though...bad memories:)

I like the haunting trumpet you hear throughout the movie "Born On The Fourth Of July."

I also like the trumpet playing in "Malcolm X."

I like some of the theme music to some TV shows, especially from the sixties...The Saint, The Avengers, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Peter Gunn; and some of the later ones including Charlie's Angels, The A-Team, etc...

Office space had Prez Prado's Mambo Number 8, not Peanut Vendor. How about the Good, the Bad and the Ugly?
