Is it a good idea to use Stamp and Gordon next to each other? I'm reasonably formilliar with Stamp, but not with Gordon (yet). Do these two approaches work well together? If they do, can you give me some examples? Which book by Gordon should I buy, to use next to Stamp? I'm a freelance pro-player, just to explain my level of playing. |

I don't see why not. We used many other books in lessons like Colin, Irons, St Jacomes, etc.
I have the Stamp book and have played some of it, trying to make sense of the instructions.
It's basically a book of exercises which is all Claude's books are also.
My suggestion for a CG book is Tongue Level Exercises since there are already pedals in Stamp.
I wrote a post about how to get started with Tongue Level Exercises and it's a few pages back.
This post was largely ignored due to the fact that it doesn't deal directly with range development, which is of course the ultimate goal of most trumpet players.
If you decide to use the book and have questions about how to go further, reply to the original post and bring it back up to the top.
