Go to L.A. and find Howie Shear at Bob Reeves shop in Valencia, he's the real deal. So's Bob Findley, he lives in Pacific Palisades.

Bob has the cool studio, the pool house in back with all the Herb Alpert records on the wall...

I took a few lessons with Caruso back in the 60's. I'm not sure about this, but if my memory serves me right, he (Caruso) advocated playing on wet lips. I may be wrong about this, but it seems to ring a bell.
Is this theory (pro and con) still being kicked around today?

Yes...me! I'm listed on the Caruso teacher website and I live in Lawrenceville. Anyone that is interested in studying can reach me at my home phone # which can be found on the Caruso teacher site list (http://carminecaruso.net/teacherslist.htm)...or you can PM me here. Thanks!
